Sweet and crunchy, these french toast treats are delicious dunked in genuine maple syrup.
French Toast Sticks

Yield: approximately 4 servings
Ingredients
- 8 thick slices day-old bread, such as Texas toast
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 5 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Maple syrup, to serve
- Garnish: confectioners’ sugar
Instructions
- Cut each bread slice into three strips. Set aside.
- In a shallow pan, whisk together cream, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
- In a large nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Working in batches, dip bread into egg mixture until coated. Place bread in hot skillet. Cook until browned and crisp on all sides, approximately 3 minutes per side. (Add butter to skillet as needed.)
- Serve with maple syrup. Garnish with confectioners’ sugar, if desired.
