Browned Butter Brownies

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons natural unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (4-ounce) bar bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray bottom only of a 13x9-inch baking pan with nonstick baking spray with flour. Set aside.
- In a medium stainless-steel skillet, melt butter over medium heat until butter is golden brown and has a nutty aroma, approximately 10 minutes. Pour into a small bowl. Let cool slightly, approximately 15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, vanilla, and butter, stirring just until combined. Fold in chocolate. Spoon into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean and edges are set, approximately 23 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
