Chili Cheese Sweet Potato Fries
- 1 (12-ounce) can cola
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup chopped yellow onion
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- ½ cup chili sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Sweet Potato Fries (recipe follows)
- Sliced green onions and shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, to serve
- In a medium saucepan, add cola, and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- In a large skillet, add beef and onion; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned and onions are tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Add tomato paste and chili powder; cook for 2 minutes more. Stir in cola, Worcestershire, mustard, chili sauce, broth, salt, and pepper; cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens, about 20 minutes. Serve over Sweet Potato Fries with green onions and cheese, if desired.
