Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon fresh or dried culinary lavender flowers
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar, ½ cup water, and lavender. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes. Cover and let stand for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding any solids. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
