Vanilla Buttercream
- 1¼ cups unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 4⅔ cups confectioners’ sugar
- ⅓ cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and salt at medium-low speed until smooth. Reduce to low speed, and slowly add confectioners’ sugar (about 1 cup at a time), alternating with cream (about 1 tablespoon at a time), beating until smooth after each addition.
- Once all sugar and cream are incorporated, increase mixer speed to medium, and beat until smooth and fluffy, about 1 minute. Add vanilla, beating until combined.
