Magic Brownie Bars

Makes about 36
Ingredients
  • Batter
  • 1 (4-ounce) bar bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Crust
  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Toppings
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, letting excess extend over sides of pan; spray with cooking spray.
  2. For batter: In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate and butter on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth (about 1 minute total). Let cool for 5 minutes. Whisk in granulated sugar and eggs.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture, whisking until smooth. Spoon batter into prepared pan.
  4. Bake just until set, about 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Leave oven on.
  5. For crust: In a large bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and melted butter. Sprinkle onto brownies in pan. Using the bottom of a measuring cup, gently spread and press crust onto brownies.
  6. For toppings: Top crust with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans. Drizzle with condensed milk.
  7. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool completely, and cut into bars. Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
