Simple French Toast
Yields: 2-3 Servings
 
Ingredients
  • 2⁄3 cup whole milk
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 6 thick slices day-old bread, such as Texas Toast, divided
  • Garnish: confectioners’ sugar
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and eggs.
  2. In a large nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat, swirling to coat pan. Dip 3 bread slices in egg mixture; place in pan. Reduce heat to medium; cook until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes per side. Place on a serving plate. Repeat procedure with remaining butter, bread, and egg mixture. Garnish with confectioners’ sugar, if desired.
