Spiced Buttermilk Glaze
  • 1½ cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon orange zest
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Flatten a piece of dough slightly; spoon about ½ teaspoon cream cheese in center, and fold dough over, pinching to seal. Reroll into a ball, and place seam side down, in pan. Repeat with remaining dough and remaining cream cheese.
  3. Spray a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with cooking spray.
  4. In a large bowl, stir together sugars, orange zest, pie spice, and salt. Add dough pieces, tossing to coat. Place dough pieces in prepared skillet; sprinkle with any remaining sugar mixture.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat; stir in orange juice, honey, and lemon juice until combined. Stir in cream and vanilla. Pour over dough.
  6. Bake until browned and bubbly, about 40 minutes, covering with foil after 30 minutes of baking to prevent excess browning. Let cool for 20 minutes. Drizzle Spiced Buttermilk Glaze on top. Serve warm.
