Like a shaken, less-rich eggnog, this cocktail makes the perfect dessert drink or accompaniment to a plate of holiday treats.
Spiced Rum Flip
Makes 1 cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 ounces spiced rum
- 1 ounce coffee liqueur
- 1 large pasteurized egg
- ½ teaspoon light brown sugar
- Garnish: orange zest curl, grated nutmeg
Instructions
- Place rum, coffee liqueur, egg, and brown sugar into a cocktail shaker. Shake 10 to 12 times until fully combined and slightly frothy. Fill halfway with ice and shake until the outside of the shaker is frosty, about 20 seconds. Strain mixture into a cocktail glass. Garnish with orange zest and grated nutmeg, if desired.
Notes
PREP TIP: Make a big batch of the cocktail mixture to easily measure out when ready to serve. Combine several servings of rum, coffee liqueur, and sugar in a container. Add 3 ounces of the mixture to a cocktail shaker with the egg when ready to serve.
