Tomato Pudding
Makes 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes
- ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground mustard
- 5 slices white bread, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Lightly spray a 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine tomatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, hot sauce, pepper, and ground mustard.
- Add bread, and stir to combine. Transfer to prepared baking dish. Bake until bubbly and golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.
