Cheddar-Dill Beer Bread
Makes 1 (9x5-inch) loaf
Ingredients
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle pale ale beer
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- Green Onion Spread (recipe follows), to serve
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cheese, sugar, and dill. Add beer and melted butter, stirring just until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake until golden brown and a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 55 minutes to 1 hour. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with Green Onion Spread.
Green Onion Spread
Ingredients
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup chopped green onion
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients until combined. Cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
