Cheddar-Dill Beer Bread

Grab a bottle of your favorite ale, and bake this irresistible cheesy loaf.

Cheddar-Dill Beer Bread
 
Makes 1 (9x5-inch) loaf
Ingredients
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 (12-ounce) bottle pale ale beer
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Green Onion Spread (recipe follows), to serve
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cheese, sugar, and dill. Add beer and melted butter, stirring just until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake until golden brown and a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 55 minutes to 1 hour. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with Green Onion Spread.

 
Green Onion Spread
 
Ingredients
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup chopped green onion
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients until combined. Cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
