Jalapeno Popper Sausage Balls

Jalapeños, smoky bacon, and creamy cheese in bite-sized perfection? These sausage balls make for an ideal game day snack or appetizer spread.

Jalapeño Popper Sausage Balls
 
Makes about 40
Ingredients
  • 1 pound pork sausage (mild or hot)
  • 2 cups all-purpose baking mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup chopped cooked bacon (about 5 slices)
  • ½ cup finely chopped seeded jalapeño
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting
  • Ranch dressing, jalapeño slices, and chopped fresh parsley, to serve
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°. Line 2 large baking sheets with foil.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together sausage, baking mix, cream cheese, Cheddar, bacon, chopped jalapeño, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, and salt until well combined. Using a 2-tablespoon spring-loaded scoop, scoop mixture, and roll smooth with lightly floured hands. Place 1 inch apart on prepared pans.
  3. Bake until golden brown, 18 to 20 minutes. Serve with ranch dressing, jalapeño slices, and parsley.

      Thank you for reaching out. We would recommend buying a gluten-free baking mix. Bisquick and King Arthur Flour both make a gluten-free baking mix. You can substitute either of those mixes cup for cup in this recipe. Enjoy!
