12 of Our Favorite Christmas Cookies

Painted-Christmas-Cookies

If your family is anything like mine, cookies are as essential to the holiday season as a tree or mistletoe. Whether baking up a batch for our neighborhood cookie exchange, or as a treat for Santa on Christmas Eve, it just wouldn’t be the holidays without oodles of these sweet treats. Many of my most treasured Christmas memories were made in the kitchen, rolling dough or spreading icing surrounded by my family and friends, and holiday baking is what I credit as my first introduction to the kitchen.

Lucky for me, working at a food magazine has only strengthened my love for my favorite holiday delights. We’ve rounded up 12 of our favorite cookie recipes, from classic sugar to spiced sorghum. Gather up your friends and family, and try out a recipe or two. Not only will you be creating holiday memories of your own, but you’ll be able to spread plenty of holiday cheer when you share your homemade goodies with those around you. Happy holidays, and Happy baking!
