Maple-Pecan Sticky Buns

Makes 16
Ingredients
  • 3 cups self-rising flour, plus more for dusting
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1¾ cups heavy whipping cream, divided
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Spray a 9-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar. Stir in 1½ cups cold cream. Knead in bowl until a dough forms.
  3. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to a scant ¾-inch thickness. Using a 2-inch round cutter, cut dough, rerolling scraps as needed. Refrigerate on a baking sheet until ready to use.
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, and remaining ¼ cup cream. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil. Pour into prepared pan, and sprinkle with pecans. Arrange dough in a single layer in pan.
  5. Bake until biscuits are golden brown, 17 to 20 minutes. Carefully invert onto a serving platter. Serve warm.
